ABOUT MUCRC

25+ Years of Excellence in Clinical Research and Impact.

The Moi University Clinical Research Centre (MUCRC) has two sites; one is located at the Chandaria Cancer and Chronic Diseases Centre, Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH), and the second site at Moi University Pension Scheme Daima Towers, along Waiganjo street off Uganda Road, Eldoret, Kenya. MUCRC was established as a Clinical Research Site (CRS) for the AIDS Clinical Trials Group (ACTG) Network by the Division of AIDS (DAIDS), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), National Institutes of Health (NIH) of the United States’ DHHS. In December 2008, MUCRC became a CRS for the United States Military HIV Research Program (US MHRP). MUCRC operates in partnership with the Academic Model Providing Access to Healthcare (AMPATH).

The mission of the Moi University Clinical Research Centre (MUCRC) is to advance high-quality clinical research that improves health outcomes locally and globally. MUCRC is dedicated to promoting scientific excellence, innovation, and ethical research practices that address pressing health challenges. Through collaboration with national and international partners, the centre seeks to translate research findings into practical healthcare solutions, strengthen health systems, and build the capacity of researchers and healthcare professionals. Ultimately, MUCRC strives to contribute to a healthier society through evidence-based interventions and sustainable medical research.
